2004
Executive were
introduced and gave their reports:
· Registrar/Treasurer: Bev McCann reported that membership renewals had been very slow coming in this year.
· 63 clubs have joined National Council this year.
· 3 clubs did not renew their membership: Whitchurch-Stouffville Newcomers' Club (ON); Kirkland Newcomers' Club (QC); and Edmonton Newcomers' Alumnae Club (AB).
· A.C.O.R.N. Mississauga and Mississauga Newcomers' have amalgamated. This is hopefully a temporary thing until Newcomers' can build up their membership.
· Waterloo Region Newcomers' Alumnae have dissolved and have become Associate Members of Waterloo Region Newcomers' Club.
·
Alumni Representative: Darlene Smith-Ferguson suggested that although NNCC is always there to offer
support and assistance, alumni groups should get together to exchange
information for more apropos and immediate responses to issues as they arise.
·
Central Liaison: Joan French provided a report.
·
A
member ship package was sent to the Rockwood Club but, on consideration, they
declined membership.
·
NNCC
Central Liaison provided assistance during the amalgamation of Acorn (
·
Joan
has resigned and expressed very best wishes to all incoming and outgoing
Executive members.
·
Western Liaison: Diana Scott provided a report.
·
2004
was a busy year for the western Rep. All
clubs in the area were contacted and a mailing list is available at the
National level.
·
Diana

·
President: Donna Carignan
reported that her year as President had been busy and enjoyable.
·
Great
effort had been expended in contacting many different clubs individually. A large number of enquiries of all kinds have
been responded to.
·
One
common query: archiving documentation
depends on where a club is located and how much space is available. 5 years is the recommended minimum for
retaining documentation.
·
Website: Louise Coglan
invited all participating clubs to use to use the Website as a useful tool to
report on their upcoming events and gain exposure.
